 Growing up in Oakley, CA, spending weekends often meant going U-picking and stopping by family-owned farm stands. Known as the "U-Pick Capital of the World," the next-door town Brentwood made locally grown, seasonal produce a natural part of everyday life. As fast food and food delivery have become increasingly common, however, many people have become disconnected from the local farms that have long been part of the community. 

As a photographer, I wanted to combine storytelling with healthy eating by creating recipes that highlight fresh, locally grown ingredients while supporting local farms. Through photography and simple, approachable recipes, I hope to encourage others to rediscover the value of seasonal produce and the farmers who grow it.
